scrapbook capital is having their monthly cyber_crop this weekend. there are 3 challenges. good luck to those that decide to have a go!
challenge 1 – only use lime and lavender on your layout or card …

layout features my brother and his girlfriend. this was an interesting challenge. i didnt have a lot of embellishments in those colours. the title is chipboard painted with lime kaisercraft paint. i did have versa colour ink so i stamped a butterfly and used a stampin up ‘eastern bloom’ stamp. the heart is made out of felt. the prima flower (although it doesnt look like it) is lavender coloured.
challenge 2 – a sketch challenge

here’s my take on the sketch >>

[the 2009 royal adelaide show was on last weekend - it was a great day. will blog with more details later!]
challenge 3 – only use things that begin with the letter L

this is what i used >>
- lined background paper
- lace cardstock
- lace ribbon
- lace doily
- lavender flower with lime centre
- laughter, live, london, location – words
- love heart
- layered labels
- leaf
- lime bracket
- photo mat paper is american crafts metropolitan range called ‘london’
{ the photo is of me and my cousin teresa from 2002 when we were in london. this was the night when harrods had their fireworks to mark the beginning of the christmas season. the fireworks lasted 15 minutes. harrods had their christmas lights switched on by the producers of ‘die another day’ (james bond movie) }
third challenge – elements challenge
using :
* 0 flowers or floral patterned paper
* 1 tag
* 2 brads
* 3 buttons
* 4 ribbons
* 5 letters in the title.
i chose to make a card >>

second challenge – an inspirational challenge

this colour combination is not one that i’ve used before … until now >>

scrapbook capital is running their august cyber_crop this weekend. there’ll be 3 challenges – all to be completed within a week. good luck to those that decide to play!
first challenge – a sketch challenge

here’s my take on the sketch >>

there’s a new competition starting soon on scrapbook capital >> “so you think you can scrap”. it’s an elimination competition with 6 rounds and 1 winner. for those that get eliminated, there’ll be a gallery set up and a small prize up for grabs. you must register if you want to take part. if you are interested, you can register here. competition is due to start monday august 24. you gotta be in it to win it!
i’ve been selected to be on the design team for scrapbook capital! to say that i’m excited is an understatement! this is the first time that i’ve been selected to be on a DT. it’s a 6 month position and i cannot wait to start! i look forward to working with the other 2 DT members, sharon and kylie and the boss_lady, lorrie.

embellished scrapbook shoppe have been running a competition called ‘embellished idol 2009′. it’s a knockout competition. there have been 3 challenges so far.
week 1 challenge – to use the following image for inspiration:

this was my challenge entry >>

week 2 challenge – to create a circle layout. this was quite a challenge!

voting started after week 2. happy to report that i made it through to week 3.
the week 3 challenge was to create a monochromatic layout. teal was my colour of choice >>

kaisercraft have got a ‘scrap your summer’ competition going on! scrap summer photos using either the new pina colada or offshore papers (or both). i’ve used pina colada papers. you may have already seen this layout in an earlier post here
